Inspired by the artistry of Shakira and Rosalía, MANDA is a Nashville based Brazilian-American artist who uses her passions of singing, dancing, and songwriting to serve the global community. Her love for American and Latin pop music translates into her own distinct style. MANDA’s music focuses on an array of subjects, from staying true to yourself to having tough conversations with your best friends, and then letting your hair down and dancing with those same best friends.
MANDA’s mother was born and raised in Brazil while MANDA’s father was born in the United States and grew up in Brazil. After both of her parents moved to the U.S. to pursue college educations, they started a family in Bloomington, Indiana where MANDA and her siblings were raised. Her interest in music began both in school, where she was heavily involved with show choir and musical theatre, and in church, where she led worship.
MANDA is proficient in English, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish as evidenced in her music. In Portuguese, ‘manda’ means ‘to command,’ which reflects the artist’s captivating and commanding stage presence. Considering she co-writes and choreographs her own songs, MANDA’s dance moves mesh perfectly with the intent behind her lyrics and are sure to get you on your feet and dancing.
In the start of 2020, MANDA released singles “Feel Alive” and “Solo Necesito” in anticipation of her upcoming EP, and “Solo Necesito” was picked for Spotify’s New Music Friday Latin playlist. Manda has released three singles in 2202, passing the 500K mark for total streams on Spotify. Check out her new single “Drama” on all streaming platforms!
MANDA envisions her platform not only as a way to encourage others through music, but also as a way to advocate for people from various cultural backgrounds. Keep up with MANDA's progress as an up-and-coming Brazilian-American artist on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok via @manda.music!
